About our Doctor
My primary care practice focuses on aspects of medical care, including adult medicine, geriatric care and well-women exams. As a board-certified family practice physician, my goal is to help patients maintain their health and vitality through the many stages of life, incorporating personalized care by listening to your concerns and working with you toward common health goals. I integrate evidence-based medicine in my review of acute and chronic disease. Being a DC- based physician for 15 years, I have built a strong referral network and work closely with specialists.
I have a special interest in preventive medicine, especially how a well-balanced diet can augment other aspects of a healthier lifestyle to help prevent or even reverse chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and dementia, among others. With special training in nutrition, I enjoy working closely with those who are interested in making more positive diet and lifestyle changes to help optimize their health. I look forward to working with my patients as they pursue their nutrition goals, and I am knowledgeable about how to help them work toward their objectives. I am proud that our practice that has a registered dietician on site to help support these goals.
As a former Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, and as a physician with experience working with international travelers, including Peace Corps volunteers and diplomats as patients, I have interest and knowledge in travel medicine. I look forward to helping you prepare for any upcoming international excursions.
In my spare time, you will find me in my community garden plot, painting in my art studio or photographing the exquisite gardens around DC, Maryland and Virginia (the DMV).
